With a 28-21 victory over George Washington in the Class AAAA playoff quarterfinals, the Cougars advanced to the state semifinals for the first time in school history.
Jefferson has gone from an 0-4 start to one of the state's final four teams.
"The team has shown so much resilience, that it's unbelievable. So, if any team that I've coached is definitely going to do it, it's going to be this team," Jefferson coach Craig Hunter said.
