New York State Troopers say a late-night fight inside a rural New York hunting cabin ended with two men dead and their brother in handcuffs.

The shooting happened at a home in the western New York town of Allen (located about an hour south of Rochester) on Sunday night, Nov. 23. Investigators say three brothers were staying at the cabin when a fight broke out, and one called 911. Troopers found two men dead when they arrived just after 10 p.m.

Mark B. Thompson, 70, of Canterbury, Connecticut, and David E. Thompson, 69, of Port Charlotte, Florida, were shot and killed during the fight. Police say both men died from rifle wounds.

Scot D. Thompson, 65, of Englewood, Florida, is accused of firing the shots.

Police say he left the scene in David’s vehicle. The Livingston County Sheriff's Office and Geneseo Police spotted the vehicle and took Thompson into custody without incident on Monday.

Thompson faces two counts each of murder in the second degree and criminal use of a firearm, New York State Police said.
