HIGGINSVILLE, Mo - A Higginsville man is behind bars in Lafayette County for allegedly threatening and assaulting his mother.

According to a probable cause statement, the mother of 37-year-old Patrick Ryan Haynes arrived at the Higginsville Police Department just after 10 on Saturday morning to report that Haynes had assaulted her in their residence the day prior.

She stated that he came into her bedroom on Friday morning and demanded that she call in sick to work. After she called in sick, Haynes took her cellphone. He then returned to the bedroom where he threatened her with a crowbar.
