COLUMBIA TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WXIX) - A former Tri-State sheriff facing an OVI charge pleaded not guilty Monday morning in court.

A.J. “Tim” Rodenberg, 77, of Hyde Park, was also cited for failing to stop after an accident and maintaining an assured clear distance, according to his ticket.

He was driving a gray 2018 Chrysler Pacifica minivan owned by his wife that struck another vehicle, court records show.

It happened on Wooster Pike (also called U.S. 50) and Walton Creek Road at 7:20 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, according to his citation.

“Needless to say, I’m very down and ashamed of what happened,” Rodenberg said in a comment Monday morning to FOX19 NOW.

“At this point, I would rather not discuss it further.”
