As Timmins City Cuncil continues to work its way through the budget process, they will take into consideration the public’s opinion, thoughts, and requests after the results of the 2026 budget survey report were shared at city hall last week.
“In 2025, city council emphasized the need for meaningful public involvement by increasing the number of public surveys and engagement opportunities across a number of key projects, ranging from recreation to waste management, growth and infrastructure,” reads an excerpt of the foreword.

The survey was open for over four weeks from Oct. 1 through Oct. 30, where residents were asked for their input on spending priorities, service value, and budget transparency with the goal of providing guidance to the city’s key decision makers.
