The passing of Bill 60, Fighting Delays, Building Faster Act, is a “welcome change for small and medium-sized landlords”, according to the Near North Landlords Association.
“I was shocked (it passed), there was so much controversy,” said President Tricia Marshall of the Near North Landlords Association.

Among other things, the legislation reduces the ability of tenants to introduce evidence of landlord harassment or lack of maintenance when challenging their eviction at the Landlord and Tenant Board (LTB), it also reduces the window for tenants to appeal their eviction from 30 days down to 15 days.
