Police in Indiana are teaming up with the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute (ICJI) to launch the annual Safe Family Travel campaign, aiming to keep roads safe during holiday celebrations. The campaign, supported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), runs from November 26 through the end of December.
Officers will focus on impaired driving, aggressive driving, and seat belt violations, working overtime to conduct saturation patrols. "We see the consequences of unsafe driving every day," said Douglas Huntsinger, executive director of ICJI. "By buckling up, slowing down, and never driving impaired, we can all help make Indiana's roads safer this season."
The campaign highlights alcohol-impaired driving as a leading cause of fatal crashes during the holidays. Failur
