BIRMINGHAM, Ala. —

Police arrested a suspect in the murder of a teen last summer.

The Birmingham Police Department arrested Stephan Trainer for the murder of Marion Poole, which occurred in June along Avenue H near Ensley and Fairfield.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 18-year-old Marion Poole.

Officers said they first learned about a person shot on Avenue H after a community member heard gunshots and found the victim.

When they arrived, they found Poole with a gunshot wound in an alley, and died at the scene.

Police said Trainer is in custody for the shooting and is being charged with capital murder.

Trainer was taken into custody without incident on an unrelated charge last week.

He remains behind bars at the Jefferson County Jail without bond.
