LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - A large group of Azteca residents turned out to the commissioners court Nov. 24 to voice their disapproval of the border wall being built.
The residents have been working on restoring the nature trail located near the neighborhood. However, according to Roque Haynes, the project manager at the Zacate Creek Green District Coalition, people may risk losing all access to this green space when the wall is built.
“It’s simply to give them an update on the good work that the Azteca residents are doing in restoring the Las Palmas nature trail and also ask that they support our fight against the border wall,” Haynes said. “Aside from the fact that border crossing and apprehensions are at an all time low, it’s the only green space that Zacate residents have to go and better
