DES MOINES, Iowa — Former Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad is set to receive the state's highest citizen award next month.
Gov. Kim Reynolds will present Branstad with the Iowa Award on December 11 in Des Moines.
The Iowa Award, established in 1948, recognizes outstanding service by Iowans in fields such as science, education, government, agriculture, and social welfare.
Previous recipients of the Iowa Award include President Herbert Hoover, Carrie Lane Chapman Catt, Bill Knapp, and George Washington Carver.
