PHOENIX — Arizona lawmakers sent a letter to Sen. Mark Kelly criticizing his appearance in a video posted to Facebook in which Kelly, alongside other elected officials, is heard reminding active military personnel they are allowed to defy illegal orders.

On Monday, the Pentagon announced it was investigating the Democrat for possible breaches of military law after he and other lawmakers released a video addressing service members, telling them they "can refuse illegal orders." The video prompted a harsh response from President Donald Trump, calling the video "seditious behavior."

In the letter, Republican lawmakers said in part:
