WAUKESHA, Wis. (WKOW) -- Morgan Geyser's longtime attorney said the only reason she would ever run from her group home after being granted conditional release is that she was coerced by someone.
Geyser, 23, is serving a 40-year commitment for her role in the 2014 Slender Man stabbing. Geyser admitted to stabbing her friend 19 times to please the fictional character. Earlier this year, a judge granted her conditional release from a mental health facility to a group home.
On Saturday, Madison police said she removed her GPS monitoring bracelet and left that group home , located on the city's west side. She was found on Sunday evening in Posen, Illinois, south of Chicago.
Tony Cotton, Geyser's attorney, spoke to ABC's Juju Chang. He acknowledged the violence in her past and her struggles
