While affordable health care is on everyone’s mind and lips, perhaps as a quick starter we could look elsewhere for a temporary fix.

Why is the federal deduction for medical expenses set at 7.5% of adjusted gross income? Why not make it a 100% deduction against taxes, similar to how consumer interest used to be?

I’ll leave it to the experts to determine what expenses are deductible, but insurance premiums, co-pays, medicine and mileage are starting points
