After reports of them looking to do so came out over the weekend, the Lakers have signed Drew Timme to a two-way deal, first reported by Shams Charania of ESPN.
To make room for Timme, the team waived Christian Koloko.
Timme has been one of the standouts for the South Bay Lakers this season, as Charania noted. On Friday, Timme scored 18 points on 7-10 shooting with 14 rebounds in the team’s win over the Santa Cruz Warriors. The two teams met again on Sunday with Timme scoring a team-high 22 points.
Koloko was signed last season but has long felt like he was two years away from being two years away. While he showed potential at times during his season with LA, it’s come in brief flashes and never been consistent.
Last season with the Lakers, he played in 37 games and averaged 2.4 points
