An East Hampton man is facing charges after being clocked driving 127 miles per hour on Route 6 East in Mansfield on Thursday night.
Connecticut State Police said an 18-year-old was driving well over the speed limit in a 65 mph zone around 8:30 p.m.

A trooper who was parked on the right shoulder turned his lights and sirens on and merged onto the highway.
Police later determined that an elderly woman was struck from behind by the same car. Troopers said the man also had two fake IDs with him.
He was taken into custody and is facing charges including reckless driving, failure to drive in a proper lane, forgery, reckless endangerment and more.
He was held on a $10,000 bond and is expected to appear in court on Dec.
