As the UK braces for freezing temperatures and snowfall, dog owners are being urged to take one crucial step to protect their pets after every walk. The winter weather often brings with it the use of rock salt and grit on roads and pavements to prevent slips and falls.
While these substances are beneficial for humans, they can pose health risks to our four-legged friends. Dogs Trust Merseyside is advising dog owners to inspect their pet's paws after each winter walk, carefully wiping them to remove any residual salt or grit from their pads and between their toes.
