BIG RAPIDS- The Ferris State University volleyball team fell just short of claiming an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. The Bulldogs fell to Wayne State in the GLIAC Tournament Championship. Both teams had shared the league regular-season title earlier this fall.
Ferris State, now at 24-7, was making its 11th appearance in the GLIAC Tournament Championship Match in the last 12 seasons.
Despite the loss, Ferris State’s strong season performance had them on the edge of their seat for the NCAA Division 2 Selection Show to see if their season would continue.
Their name was called, FSU has secured a spot in the NCAA Division II Tournament for the 14th consecutive year, marking the 29th time in the school’s history.
