Once again, Kaden Wetjen made this decision a no-brainer for the Big Ten office. On Monday, the conference named Iowa's star return man the Special Teams Player of the Week. He's now won the award three times this season.
In Saturday's comeback win over Michigan State, Wetjen ripped off a 62-yard punt return for a touchdown in the first quarter. For the game, he racked up 166 combined return yards — his sixth career game with 100+ return yards. Wetjen’s 147 punt return yards on Saturday moved him past Ramon Ochoa for the most career punt return yards (538) in school history. Wetjen’s 17.5 career punt return average (53 returns, 929 yards) is currently No. 1 in Big Ten history.
