MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich. — Around 11:09 a.m. Saturday morning, officers with the Muskegon Heights Police Department (MHPD) responded to an address on Wood St. for a report of a man being shot.

The police department said its officers were at the scene within three minutes of the call being received. When they arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound to the upper body.

Officers immediately began rendering aid while the Muskegon Heights Fire Department and Trinity Health EMS arrived on scene. The man was brought to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.

Muskegon Heights officers were able to gather a description of the suspect, which they shared with all law enforcement officers in Muskegon County. Officers from the City of Muskegon Police Department, Norton Shores Police Department
