BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - In anticipation of Monday’s severe weather, the National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for the following counties until 1AM tonight
Walker
Waller
Montgomery
San Jacinto
Trinity
Houston
With an unstable, moisture-rich environment in place across the Brazos Valley, thunderstorm activity is expected to increase both in terms of coverage and intensity as a frontal boundary approaches this afternoon. All severe weather hazards are possible, but the threat for tornado development will be most prominent with isolated cells that form ahead of the front.
A tornado WATCH is in effect for our eastern counties until 1am, through they will likely be "trimmed" from this watch early as the front moves through the area and the severe threat diminishes. (KBTX)
