GATESVILLE, Texas — Gatesville ISD is recognizing two students and a staff member for their quick actions during a scary situation at a recent football game.
During a junior varsity football game on Thursday, Nov. 20, Gatesville ISD said a Robinson player suffered a severe concussion. Student athletic trainers Ethan Arther and Callie Smith, who were on the scene, "immediately jumped into action," the district said, showing "amazing composure and awareness" during a serious situation.
Gatesville ISD said Arther and Smith stayed "calm, alert and ready to help in any way needed," making sure all equipment was on hand and ready to go if necessary.
