HOBART, Ind. (WNDU) - Two roadside workers sustain serious injuries Monday after being struck by a car on I-65.
Indiana State Police say the crash happened at 2:30 p.m. on I-65 at mile-marker 255.9 just one mile north of 61 st avenue.
A pick-truck pulling a utility trailer owned by Interstate Business Solutions had been parked on the right shoulder of the southbound lane.
Police say the crash happened when a car traveling in the right lane struck the parked pick-up truck at a high rate of speed.
The pick-up truck then hit a nearby roadside worker who was standing outside of the truck collecting debris in the ditch. The truck then came to a stop in the right lane.
