A Brooklyn man was sentenced earlier this month to 10 years and one month in prison after he previously admitted sex trafficking a 14-year-old girl, federal prosecutors said.

Soauib Butcher, 31, of Brooklyn, pleaded guilty earlier this year to conspiracy to commit sex trafficking of a minor and was sentenced on Nov. 7, according to a statement from the U.S. Attorney’s Office District of New Jersey.

Butcher and an unidentified co-conspirator lured the girl away from her group home in Bridgewater after Butcher met her online and convinced her to meet him at a train station in Somerville in August 2019, the office said.

Butcher then brought her to Elizabeth where she stayed with him and the other person until January 2020 in a series of motel rooms, investigators said.
