With Thanksgiving approaching, students at Pima and Echo Canyon elementary schools are learning the importance of being thankful – and one of the most important holidays in American history.
Only the oldest can comprehend a cruel irony: These students may become part of Scottsdale history.
With the expected, historical closing/repurposing of these two A-rated schools looming, parents are not thankful about the district’s plan.
One impacted mother begged the district to slow things down, worrying “the dominoes are falling.”
Another called the plans “a betrayal of trust.”
While dozens have made public comments at recent meetings and scores have emailed the district, the decision on closures will come down to five board members – three serving their first terms.
