PEPPER PIKE, Ohio -- Rebecca Fredmonsky, coordinator of gifted services for the Orange City School District, provided an update on new operating standards in Ohio for gifted students to the Orange Board of Education.

“While not many standard revisions have a large impact on our services here at Orange, some shifts had to be made in order to comply with our new operating standards,” Fredmonsky told the board Monday (Nov. 24).

Fredmonsky said the latest revisions to the operating standards for identifying and serving students who are gifted went into effect July 1.

She noted that there were three major categories of changes: identification, services and professional development.
