LOS ANGELES, California — Latin musician and influencer Maria De La Rosa was shot and killed early Saturday morning while sitting in a parked vehicle, with two other people critically wounded.
A news release from the Los Angeles Police Department says witnesses saw two males approach the vehicle at about 1:25 a.m. and fire multiple shots. De La Rosa, 22, who performed under the name DELAROSA, was taken to a hospital but died of her wounds. The two other victims remained in critical condition.
KTLA Channel 5 reports no arrests had been made as of Monday. Police say the motive for the shooting is unclear.
According to KTLA, De La Rosa released a song in August titled “No Me Llames” (“Don’t Call Me”). She hinted in an Instagram post that she was working on more songs.
