A bystander at Wall Stadium Speedway in Monmouth County was injured Saturday when a race car lost control, police said.

The driver was attempting to make a left turn when the car struck a guardrail, overturned and hit a person, according to a New Jersey State Police spokesman.

Troopers responded to the stadium to investigate shortly before noon and the person was taken to a local hospital with “moderate injuries,” the spokesman said.

No other information was released Monday as the crash was still under investigation.
