Six people were arrested as part of the takedown of a massive marijuana-selling network that spanned four counties of the Garden State, authorities announced Monday.

The two-year investigation started in December 2023 when detectives looked into the illegal sale of weed in Bergen County, according to a statement from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.

As the lengthy investigation continued, the office learned that the scale of the criminal network reached beyond their jurisdiction and included Essex, Passaic and Morris counties, officials said. Prosecutors in those counties then joined with the DEA in the investigation.
