A Christmas market was brought to a standstill following a dramatic public scrap between two men - one of whom once told Liz Truss he "loves" her.

Manchester 's annual Christmas Markets ground to a halt on Sunday evening when two alleged local nemeses brawled it out in front of shocked onlookers. Dougie Joyce and Simon 'Slimey' McGinley descended on one another in Exchange Square outside Manchester Selfridges at 4.35pm on the weekend, with the two captured on camera mid-scuffle falling to the ground.
