A controlling bully who “turned into the Incredible Hulk” when his teacher girlfriend said she was leaving him is facing life in prison after being found guilty of breaking her neck.
Trudi Burgess, 57, was left paralysed from the chest down after Robert Easom, 56, flew into an “uncontrollable” rage when she told him their relationship was over. Easom, a landscape gardener described as becoming “like a monster,” pinned the mother of two face-down on his bed and drove his bodyweight onto her neck until it snapped, severing her spinal cord.
Easom was convicted of Section 18 wounding after a jury heard harrowing testimony from Ms Burgess, who spoke from her hospital bed in intensive care. She recalled hearing her spine crack before her body went numb, The Mirror reported.
