Much needed drainage work will be done on a problematic stretch of road that runs through Warwickshire . The A45 has had persistent issues in recent years with water sitting on the surface of the road.

Highways have now confirmed they will undertake several months' work which will tackle the issue across four miles just outside Coventry heading toward Rugby .

A full schedule has been released this week by highways bosses, with work expected to be ongoing into 2026. Diversions will be in place when required, though the aim is to complete as much work as possible during night times.

A spokesman for National Highways said: "Essential maintenance on the A45 between Memorial Island and Thurlaston is being undertaken to improve safety and reduce the risk of carriageway flooding.
