Around 150 firefighters are tackling a huge warehouse fire in Southhall which has caused smoke to fill London’s skyline.

The blaze broke out in a two storey warehouse and retail space in Southall in Ealing.

Locals phoned the fire brigade over 50 times as fire ripped through three-quarters of the building.

Smoke billowing out from the blaze can be seen across the capital, with residents spotting the black fumes from Merton in south London – which is approximately 17 miles from Southall. Crews from Southall, Heston, Ealing and surrounding fire stations are at the scene and have deployed turntable ladders to tackle the inferno.
