Firefighters have swarmed a street in Southall, a suburban town in West London, after a huge blaze erupted in a two-storey building. The London Fire Brigade said to have sent 15 fire engines and some 100 firefighters to attend the scene.
Stark pictures shared on social media show the fire being seen from four miles away. The LFB said in a statement: "Fifteen fire engines and around 100 firefighters are responding to a fire on Bridge Road, Southall. The fire is located in a two storey structure consisting of a warehouse and retail space. Traffic in the area will be impacted as crews respond. The Brigade was first called about the incident at 0855, and crews from Southall, Heston, Ealing and surrounding fire stations have been sent to the scene. The cause of the fire is not yet known."
