A drug dealer was found in possession of £700 worth of cocaine and thousands of pounds worth of cash. He was also found in possession of Burberry trainers worth £500.

Shay Williams, 21, was arrested after police attended a property in Newport after receiving reports of a brothel operating in the area. The defendant attempted to escape through a rear garden but he was later detained and searched.

A sentencing hearing at Newport Crown Court on Monday heard his mobile phone was seized and was found to contain drug related messages. F or the latest court reports sign up to our crime newsletter .
