Welcome to your last "warm" and mild day for some time, Chicago -- over the next 24 hours, it will get significantly colder and windier , with "feels-like" temperatures in the teens at times and the potential for a weekend storm.

Tuesday morning started out rainy, NBC 5 Storm Team Meteorologist Kevin Jeanes said, with temperatures in the 40s and steady rain moving across northern Lake County. The rain would transition to patchy drizzle and fog as the morning continued, with dry but cloudy weather expected through the afternoon.

High temperatures Tuesday will be in the low 50s, Jeanes said, which is above average for this time of year. But overnight, much colder air will move in, with temperatures plummeting into the 30s starting Wednesday.
