A 28-year-old Maryland father is behind bars after investigators say he was responsible for his infant daughter's death.
Jordan Nathaniel Savoy was arrested by members of the Charles County Sheriff's Office following an investigation into his 4-year-old daughter's injuries after she was rushed to an area hospital.
At around 6:45 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 23, officers and paramedics responded to the 300 block of Barksdale Avenue in Waldorf, where there were reports of a child not breathing.
Medical personnel attempted to render aid to the infant and transported her to Charles Regional Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead upon arrival.
It was discovered that the infant had sustained multiple fractures and other critical injuries, and her father was responsible, according to the sheriff's office.
Savoy was charged with:
- Murder;
- Aggravated assault;
- Other offenses.
He's being held at the Charles County Detention Center without bond. The fatal incident remains under investigation.
