Dare contractor plans to complete Buxton debris collection by Nov. 20

On Monday, Nov. 17, the Dare County contractor returned to Buxton to work on debris collection in the wake of the recent oceanfront home collapses.

According to County Projects and Procurement Manager Dustin Peele, as of the morning of Tuesday, Nov. 17, the contractor had collected and unloaded four truckloads of debris with several more loads expected to be collected that evening. In a follow-up on Wednesday, Peele said he heard that “great progress is being made.”

He added that the contractor is planning to finish debris collection by Thursday, Nov. 19 and will then make a final pass through the area.
