A Central El Paso cafe and a popular El Paso restaurant chain received barely passing scores in this week's restaurant inspections .

Inspections were completed from Nov. 17-21.

A passing score is 70 or higher. Establishments scoring 60 or lower face closure. An inspection carried out on a particular day may not reflect the overall, long-term conditions of the establishment. A perfect score is 100.

Inspections of any locations that serve or sell food to the public are conducted in the city of El Paso, Anthony, Clint, Horizon City, Socorro, Vinton and El Paso County.

Restaurants failing inspections are given a chance to rectify the violations before a reinspection.
