Hazel Park — A Pontiac man accused of killing his sister and 12-year-old nephew by slitting their throats earlier this fall will undergo an independent competency examination to determine if he is mentally fit to stand trial.
Ladamien Hill’s defense attorney Lindsay Abramson said Tuesday in Hazel Park’s 43rd District Court that she has already lined a doctor up to do a second, independent competency review to determine if her client is fit to stand trial. The state’s own competency review has concluded but the results were not mentioned in court.
Hill is charged with two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the deaths of Linda Hill, 41, and Kardi Jackson, 12. Officers found the mother and son with their throats apparently slashed around 4:15 p.m. Sept. 1 in their Hazel Park
