Hundreds of school kids are set to attend a skilled trades community expo Wednesday morning in the gym at Lambton College, and, in the afternoon, members of the community are invited to drop in.
It’s the second annual expo organized by the Sarnia Lambton Workforce Development Board aimed at encouraging elementary school pupils and high school students, as well as adults in the community, to consider careers in the skilled trades.

About one in eight job openings by 2029 in Ontario is expected to be for skilled trades-related occupations, and many currently in the trades are nearing retirement age, the province’s labour ministry said recently.
