This time police didn’t shut down Scott Youmans playing O Canada on his loudspeaker.
In fact, out in front of Toronto Police’s headquarters Monday, the Canadian patriot with his maple leaf flag in hand not only played his national anthem soundtrack but sang along to it with no interruption.
It was glorious and a reminder of the freedom of expression Canadians enjoy.
This was not a protest. There was no yelling. No pushing. No demonstrators in masks and no vitriol or nasty words coming from each side of a roadway. Just one guy and his service dog named Freedom taking his love of country to the police station in a peaceful way to make a point.
