HICKMAN, Calif. —

At least one person died Tuesday morning after a crash in Stanislaus County, officials said.

The crash was reported around 6:40 a.m. at Hickman and Cogswell roads south of the Waterford area, according to traffic logs from the California Highway Patrol.

Stanislaus Regional Fire Investigation Unit said its investigators are at the scene for the crash that also led to a car fire on Oakdale Waterford Highway just north of Cogswell Road. It anticipates the highway being closed for the next couple of hours.

It is unknown how many people were involved. CHP traffic logs show the crash might have been between two vehicles.
