As the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections met on the morning of Nov. 25 to certify and make the results of the Nov. 4 primary election official, four candidates across a pair of races found out whether they were elected or not after their races ended in a tie.
In the Orange school board race, voters reelected board of education president Jeffrey Leikin and member Rebecca Boyle, but first-time candidates Julia Lawrence and Chavone Taylor Nash finished in a tie for the third open seat with both receiving 1,881 votes, or 22.3%.
In the official results reported on Nov. 25, Nash won her first seat on the Orange Board of Education after receiving 1,939 votes, or 22.35%. Lawrence received 1,924 votes, or 22.18%. Race Election Year Election Level Election Type Orange City School District 202
