The Sioux Falls School District is looking at cutting zero, 1% or 2% of its budget for fiscal year 2027, which is for the 2026-2027 school year.

Cuts could make their way up to $1 million or more, according to earlier comments from district officials.

District business manager Todd Vik said he can’t imagine the district will fully fund every area of the budget “based on what we’ve kind of heard coming out of Pierre.”

Vik is referring to superintendent Jamie Nold’s statements from the last school board meeting on Nov. 19 that he doesn’t expect an increase in state aid to education this year.
