Right-wing influencer Candace Owens claims that French President Emmanuel Macron attempted to assassinate her for claiming his wife was born a man.
The former Turning Point USA and Daily Wire employee posted a video making the allegation on Saturday and followed up on Tuesday with a post on X explaining that her widely followed YouTube show would not be produced this week.
"Our show will be off air this week," Owens posted. "As an update, both the White House and our counterterrorism agencies have confirmed receipt of what I reported publicly: Emmanuel Macron attempted to organize my assassination, per a source close to the first couple."
"Also, I will again state that the French legionnaires were involved in Charlie Kirk’s assassination but they did not act alone," she added. "For all of you who doubted my claims, you can now look to the President of the United States and our intelligence communities to issue a statement to confirm whether I am telling the truth."
Marcon and his wife Brigitte have filed a defamation lawsuit against Owens after she claimed the French first lady is a biologiccal male, and she has continued spreading the conspiracy theory even after the complaint was lodged in July.
"I'm very glad CNN did a feature interview with this woman, who is currently stating that she's gotten exclusive leaks from deep in the French government about their attempts to assassinate her for some reason," posted attorney Jesse Taylor.
"Insanity often leads to anti-semitism but anti-semitism also often leads to insanity," said Bluesky user BeijingPalmer.
"'If you don’t believe me, ask the world’s most infamously dishonest man' is… interesting, in an abject sense," added Bluesky user Darren Simmons.
