WEIRTON — A Weirton man is facing child pornography charges as part of an investigation by the West Virginia State Police.
James Louis Capito, 76, was arrested Monday on a warrant charging him with possession of child pornography, according to information released by the State Police.
According to online Magistrate Court records, Capito faces one count of distributing or exhibiting material depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct (600-plus images).
He appeared in Hancock County Magistrate Court Monday for an initial appearance, posting the $75,000 bond.
A hearing has been set for Dec. 11 before Magistrate Stephen Svokas.
The investigation, led by First Sgt. D.L. Stafford, is ongoing in coordination with the West Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children Unit.
