RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - The Virginia Department of Health is keeping in close contact with their state and federal partners as health leaders continue to monitor an ongoing infant botulism outbreak linked to ByHeart baby formula, which has been recalled.

Tests of the recalled baby formula that has sickened dozens of babies in more than two dozen states showed that all of the company’s products may have been contaminated. Other infants, who drank ByHeart formula were treated for botulism in earlier months, as far back as November 2024, although they are not counted in the outbreak, officials said.

VDH said there have been no reported cases linked to the outbreak in Virginia.
