Waterville city council postponed a vote on data centers that was expected to occur Monday night.
They are trying to decide if they should block any future efforts that might arise to build a mega-scale data center within the city limits.
The postponement came at the urging of Mayor Tim Pedro, who opened the meeting by stating that legislation for such a vote was not ready. He noted that councilmen, by charter, are required to have at least three days to review any such legislation.
“We’ve got to deal with the facts that are before us today,” Mayor Pedro said.
