A man died after another man allegedly hit him in the head with a baseball bat during a fight between neighbors at a New Bedford rooming house Saturday, officials said.
The fight was reported Saturday about 11:30 p.m. when New Bedford police were called to 162 Sawyer St., the Bristol district attorney’s office said in a statement.
Officers found Curtis Pina, 62, on the third-floor landing bleeding heavily from his forehead, the statement said.
Pina was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead a few hours later, the district attorney’s office said.
New Bedford police and State Police began investigating and arrested 38-year-old Arirto Santiago, who also lived in the rooming house, officials said.
