FATE, Texas — The City of Fate has announced that Chief Lyle Lombard is no longer with the city's Department of Public Safety, officials say.
The release states the transition became effective on Nov. 21. The city has appointed Ryan Ragan to oversee police operations and Captain John Taylor to oversee fire services.
The Fate Department of Public Safety oversees police, fire and first responder medical assistance.
Lombard served in the position for seven-and-a-half years, the city said. During this time, Fate was recognized as one of the safest cities in Texas.
The city issued a statement saying Lombard is no longer with the department. According to Fate Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Mark Hartley, Lombard was fired from his position on Friday.
